8 Crazy Nights of Wine, Night 1: Herzog Chenin Blanc & Tzuba Chardonnay

Happy Chanukah! The first night of this celebration is generally filled with the whole family: cousins, in-laws, kids and their kids. Latkes and gelt (chocolate coins) are abound. This light yet flavorful fare calls for some delicious semi-dry whites.

Baron Herzog Chenin Blanc is a remarkably affordable, multiple-award winning wine that's universally adored. Filled with citrus and passion fruit, this Chenin Blanc is also perfect for those just getting into wine. It's incredibly agreeable without relying on a sugary taste. Tzuba Chardonnay, made in Israel, also has enough sweetness to mingle with not-too-heavy dessert while possessing enough strength to stand up to fried foods.
